Dr Clarissa De Paz
She Obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Art History from Rosemont College in Philadelphia. After her Doctorate, she went on to obtain Low Vision training from Lighthouse for the Blind in New York. She then attended State University of New York where she obtained a pediatric specialty. She was appointed a Low Vision faculty position at Inter American University, School of Optometry, where she was a Faculty member before moving to Texas. She has a degree in Ocular Therapeutics from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She also consulted multiple Retinal Surgical Practices in the area of Vision Rehabilitation and Low Vison. She has presented lectures to many professional groups and has been a visiting professor in The school of Optometry in Verona Italy.
She is recognized as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist by the Texas Optometry Board. She has extensive experience in the management of refractive surgeries (LASIK) and the fitting of the most current, sophisticated Silicone Hydrogel Contact Lenses. She is an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at IAU School of Optometry. When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys playing tennis and being Mom's Taxi for her two teen kids.
Dr Agustin Gonzalez
Dr. Gonzalez is a Texas Licensed Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and Therapeutic Optometrist. Born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico, he studied at Jacksonville University in Florida where he received a B.S. in Biology, a B.S. in Physiology. Later graduated in 1987 as a doctor of Optometry from the prestigious Inter American University school of Optometry.
While completing his optometric curriculum, he was doing research in the physiological aspects of vision in Owls. In 1992, in order to expanded his education in Ocular Therapeutics, he attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Certified by the Texas Optometry Board as a Therapeutic Optometrist in January 1993, Dr Gonzalez is able to treat eye diseases as well as Glaucoma. After working and achieving the rank of Dean of Clinical Affairs at IAU school of optometry, he came to Texas and has been as an independent doctor since 1994.
His experience has allowed to specialize in treatment of eye diseases, conditions and infections. He is one of the very few Texas Optometrist who holds the distinguished designation of "Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry", a peer recognition for excellence in clinical work. Dr Gonzalez serves as an industry expert in the topic of Dry Eye and medications. He lectures extensively to both optometry and ophthalmology groups and has published peered reviewed articles scientific and education publications. He is an Adjunct Faculty member at IAU School of Optometry.
In his spare time he likes to stay informed about new and developing technologies, playing golf and the art of Photography.
